Missed the conference
So much to my chagrin I was unable to make it to the Generous Orthodoxy conference in Seattle last weekend. However, it all worked out for the best... I opted to stay back and substitute teach for my pastor/landlord Deborah Loyd's ethics class at North Portland Bible College. This was an amazing, fantastic experience. I put in my resume to teach church history next term so I'm keeping the fingers crossed.
I am excited to hear about the conference, however. It is a great thing that the Emerging Church is finally emerging into something. We are not simply about deconstructing truth and talking about semantics. Instead we are coming together to find some parameters. Is this something new? Not at all... in 451 the council of Chalcedon did the same thing. I'm looking forward to future developments and participating in conversations.
